HomeGauge has been in the market since 2001. It was owned by American Family Insurance from 2017 until Spectora acquired it in April 2025. The desktop Report Writer and dashboard continue to receive updates, while the cloud Web Writer was shut down in September 2025.

Target Market

Established inspectors who have used the platform for years and are comfortable with its desktop workflow. Less appealing to Mac users or inspectors who want to write reports entirely in the cloud or on mobile.
